For a while I considered the whole “start online business” trend as a scam. The influencers were selling their online courses on how to make money online to their followers and the insight was simple: sell an e-book that I have just sold you. It's no more than a pyramid scheme at worst, annoying at best.
But then something happened.
Communities like Indie Hackers or Product Hunt were popping up to to showcase passion projects from genuine individuals.
The vast majority were not even making any money from their side projects yet and were open about it. But some did.
I was intrigued and set out to explore their types of entrepreneurship looking for inspiration and postmodern ways of working.
After all, one of the greatest accomplishments in life is earning the autonomy to choose how you spend your time.
